In terms of a fabric’s typical properties and the way it reacts to use, flat weaves tend to be somewhat fluffy, which can lead to pilling. This can also cause the material to accumulate foreign fibres. These small balls of fuzz can be removed using a lint remover. Pilling does not constitute a basis for complaints. Discolouring caused by rubbing of other cushions and/or clothing is not a defect of a sofa’s upholstery. Variations in colour and fabric structure are normal and do not constitute grounds for complaints. The interaction of pressure, heat and moisture can lead to a more or less pronounced dislocation of the fabric pile (wear marks). Wear patterns causing discolouring are a typical feature of fabric upholstery and are not representative of a reduction in the level of quality.
